Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. This site uses a handful of them. Rejecting non-essential cookies does not stop you reading the journal or sending a commission enquiry. How we handle personal data more generally is in the privacy notice.
Types we use
Essential. We store your Accept or Reject choice so the banner does not return on every page load. That storage is in localStorage under the key toolkitcraftbase_cookie_consent, which is treated here alongside cookies because it remembers a preference.
Analytics. Only if you press Accept do we allow a first-party analytics cookie so we can see which pages are read. Rejecting leaves those cookies unset. The site, including the enquiry form, still works.
Cookie table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| toolkitcraftbase_cookie_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies | Until you clear site data (localStorage) | Toolkitcraftbase (first party) |
| tcb_measure | Counts page views if you accepted analytics, so we know whether the journal is read | 6 months | Toolkitcraftbase (first party) |
Third-party cookies
Pages load type from Google Fonts. Google may set cookies according to its own policies when fonts are fetched. Images are requested from Unsplash’s content network; that request is not a cookie we set. We do not embed advertising networks.
How to manage or disable cookies
Use Accept or Reject on the banner. To change a choice later, clear stored data for toolkitcraftbase.click in your browser settings and reload; the banner will appear again. You can also block cookies entirely in the browser; the enquiry form still submits, but your banner choice will not persist.
Impact of disabling
Blocking all storage may show the banner on every visit. Analytics will not run if you rejected or if the analytics cookie is blocked. Commissions, rates, and journal articles remain available.
