What we collect
From the contact form or email: name, email address, the commission you have in mind, dates or quarters you mention, and the content of your message. From a live commission: the editorial contact’s name and email, and any personal data that happens to sit inside files you send (for example a column of author names). We do not ask for health data, payment-card numbers on this site, or copies of identity documents.
Why we use it
To reply to enquiries, to perform a contract for a pack or briefing, to invoice, and to keep records required by UK tax law. The lawful bases are contract, legitimate interests in running a small practice, and legal obligation for accounting records.
Retention
Unsuccessful enquiries are deleted after eighteen months. Invoices and contracts are kept for six years after the tax year. Working extracts are destroyed within twelve months of delivery unless a retainer requires a baseline, as described in our terms.
Processors
Email and files may pass through ordinary UK or EEA professional email hosting. If you accept analytics cookies, a measurement cookie may be set as described on the cookies page.
International transfers
We do not seek to store client files outside the United Kingdom. If a processor holds a copy in the EEA, we rely on the UK’s adequacy arrangements. We will not upload your extracts to a public chart gallery.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection, and you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. You may withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time by clearing the stored choice and using the cookies page. These rights do not erase invoices we must keep.
Children
This site is aimed at editors and commercial staff. We do not knowingly take commissions from anyone under 18.
